December Streets to play at OneSight Acoustics – TICKET GIVEAWAY
On Sunday, 13 November, December Streets will be joining the likes of Reason, BCUC and DJ Invizable at The Good Luck Bar for the next instalment of OneSight Acoustics. We spoke to the band about this event and their year so far.
You’ve recently played at the Converse Climate Change Party. How did you find this experience?
It was fantastic, Converse is always a great brand to be involved with, they treat us really well and put on a stellar production.
How did you experience your recent performance at the annual Halloween event at the Voortrekker Monument?
Being one of the biggest parties in our hometown, we love playing Arcade’s Halloween party! The crowd went wild, everyone dressed up, such a vibe! It [was] also the first time we’ve performed with suit tops and no pants. First time for everything.
You’ve been touring extensively this year. What has been your favourite 2016 tour experience so far?
We seriously love performing all the shows we do, it’s what we live for, and being on the road traveling is half the fun! A highlight experience or 2016 (an our career in general) was the fun we had touring Europe in May, particularly the shows and experiences in Berlin and Amsterdam. The culture and support blew us away!
In July this year, you released a very innovative video for your track “Santa Fe”. Where did the inspiration for the narrative behind this video come from?
The video follows the story of a girl stuck in a virus breakout, faced with the journey of trying to find a cure for her partner who has turned into a creature. She then sacrifices her humanity and joins him by letting herself turn into a creature. The song talks about the nostalgia of an adventure and relationship, we thought this would be an interesting way of portraying it.
You’ll be performing at the next OneSight Acoustics event on 13 November. What are your expectations for your set there?
We have a very new approach to our live performance that we are excited to share with the audience.
Which tracks can fans expect to hear at your performance there?
Most of the classics as well as a while bunch of our new material.
We have a set of double tickets to the next OneSight Acoustics event on 13 November to give away – simply tell us who you’re most excited to see at the event and you could win!
